To keep printed text clear and readable, we recommend a font size of at least 6 pt. If smaller text is necessary, do not go below 4 pt.
Be sure to convert all text to outlines (Create Outlines) to prevent missing fonts, missing characters, or printing errors.
Converting text to outlines
Step 1:
Make a copy of your text before converting it, because you will no longer be able to change its character styling or font afterward.
Step 2:
Select the text you want to convert, then choose Type → Create Outlines.
Once outlined, the text becomes shapes with anchor points that you can edit using the Direct Selection Tool.
Also embed all images in your artwork. This prevents missing images when the file is opened and avoids problems during layout and printing.
Embedding linked files
When you embed a file in an Illustrator document, it becomes part of the document and is no longer linked to the source file. The Links panel will no longer notify you of changes made to the original.
To embed a file:
Step 1:
Select the file in the Links panel.
Step 2:
Open the Links panel menu.
Step 3:
Choose Embed Image(s).
